This page documents the known plants and herbs used in healing practices in the Wheel of Time series.

Some of the plants, herbs and roots require combining with others to improve their healing effects, this list contains those that can be used on their own. If one should make a tea, an ointment or any other sort of preparation isn’t always specified – reading the parts when they’re used might be required to improve the instructions.

ACEM

Reduces swelling topically and can be ingested to reduce internal bleeding

Andilay root

Used for fatigue, made into tea

Blisterleaf

Used for wounds caused by Thakan’dar blades, it will only slow the spreading of the taint.

Blue Goat Flowers

A hot poultice made with the water from boiled blue goatflowers will greatly improve the healing of a broken bone

Bluewort

Settles a queasy stomach when ingested

Boneknit

Easy to find, it is ingested to help mending broken bones.

Chainleaf tea

Settles a queasy stomach when ingested

Corenroot

Found in the Two Rivers, it is used as a concoction to help the body make blood.

Crimsonthorn

CAUTION! Use it in small doses as a painkiller – higher doses will cause paralysis and even death.

Dogwort

Dogwort aids wound healing. No details on how it is used, though one can assume its used topically.

FEVERBANE

As the name suggests, it is used to treat fevers. Ingested as a tea. Mix with Acem to treat the Whiteshakes.

Five-finger

Combined with ground ivy and sunburst root, it acts as an ointment to relieve pain and heal bruises.

FLATWORT

Made into tea, used to treat fatigue, headache and sore muscles.

FOXTAIL

Aids sleep when ingested

GHEANDIN

Powdered gheandin blossom helps the killing kind of heart pains 

GOATSTONGUE

Assists sleeping and stomach cramps. Relives side effects after consumption of Forkroot.

Goosemint

Relives stomach acid when ingested.

Greenwort

Used to assist sleeping and also for stomach cramps.

Ground ivy

Combined with five-finger and sunburst root, it creates an ointment to relieve pain and heal bruises.

Healall

Can be found in the Two Rivers and in Amadicia, use its powder form mixed with water for orally using or as an ingredient for an ointment to apply in scratches and open wounds.

HEARTLEAF

Consumed in tea, it is an effective contraceptive.

Lionheart

Relieves pain. Unclear how it is used.

Mardroot oil is used to treat brusies.

Ingest as a tea to treat a queasy stomach.

Pokeleaf

Treats dental pain.

RED Fennel

Settles a queasy stomach.

SHEEPSTONGUE

Treats eyepain. Unclear as to how it is used, but it is described as the worst tasting thing Nynaeve knows of, so safe to assume it is ingested.

SILVERLEAF

Relieves headaches.

SLEEPWELL

Relieves headpain and causes mild drowsiness to aid sleep.

SORFA

Applied to wounds.

sulphur

Drink with honey to relive sore throats.

Sunburst

Use it as an ingredient for an ointment, apply to help heal bruises.

Timsin root

Treats headaches.

White fennel

Eases the pain of childbirth

WHITE HENPEPPER

Treats dental pain. Can also be used as a hair dye.

Willowbark

Easy to find and very commonly used as a painkiller, especially for headaches.

Worrynot root

Can be found in the Two Rivers and it can be used to treat fever – no need to combine it with other herbs.
